Description and Objectives
- Perform Automatic, Accurate and Reliable Registration of Multiple Source Planetary Data.
- Provide a choice of solutions for easy registration of diverse image data.
- Build a web-based tool easily accessible to a variety of users.
- Reduce errors introduced by mis-registration.
- Earth, space or exploration Science: integrate variety of data from multiple sources, multiple viewpoints as well as multiple sensors at multiple dates.
TARA User Interface
Technical Approach
- Supplement commercial tools
- Develop and integrate several feature-based registration methods, multi-resolution based using:
- Fast Fourier correlation,
- Mutual Information,
- Robust Feature Matching and
- Wavelet decomposition
- Web-based user interface
Main Innovation(s)
- Register the data on the same web site and at the same time that the data is acquired by the user and therefore simplify the ingestion of this data into target applications and models
- Framework suitable for:
- Adding other registration methods
- Adding new applications (e.g., fusion, change detection, etc.)
Infusion Potential
- DAAC/Giovanni; Science Teams Data Analysis
- Applied Sciences
