Description and Objectives
- To create an iPod/iPad application to operate the mini-LHR that measures column CO2. This completely replaces the laptop, National Instruments (NI) data acquisition (DAQ) hardware, and NI LabVIEW software.
- To control and monitor remote instruments.
- To provide access and control of instruments located in almost any environment.
- To reduce implementation time for instruments by providing an architecture that is adaptable to design changes.
LabNotes User View
Technical Approach
- Leverages key IRC (Instrument Remote Control) concepts to provide a configurable library of standard visualization and commanding interfaces.
- Automatically creates GUI (Graphical User Interface) for instrument commanding.
- Instrument Proxy creates command formatters, port managers and telemetry parsers for instrument.
- Data analysis pipeline parses, processes, displays, archives, and exports data.
Main Innovation(s)
- Revolutionizes data collection and instrument control by reducing the cost by 90% and the size by 50%.
Infusion Potential
- Applicable to any new Instrument or modular project.
